Facilitating regional knowledge sharing in the yachting industry.
As part of our commitment to fostering the development of yachting tourism in Vanuatu, MDF supported a visit of the CEO of the Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO) Adela Issachar ARU, Director of Vanuatu’s Department of Tourism, Paul Pio and the Deputy Director of the Vanuatu Customs Department Jesicca Pakoro Tarivonda with their team to Fiji recently. The visit was an opportunity to engage with local marinas and the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) to gain insights into how Fiji has helped grow this form of tourism and to discuss Fiji’s strategies and adaptations for the yachting industry — particularly the role of the customs services.
It also allowed for Vanuatu and Fiji stakeholders to share knowledge on ways to expand the yachting industry more broadly across the Pacific region.
The growth of the yachting industry means more than just beautiful marinas, it also presents opportunities for economic growth, cultural exchange, and opening new horizons.
